A 23-year-old Auburn man was arrested this month in connection to a series of purse and wallet thefts at a Costco in Tukwila.
Police said starting in February, multiple people had reported their purses and wallets were stolen from their shopping cart or vehicles. The thefts would happen when victims were putting groceries in the trunk of their vehicles or returning their shopping carts at Costco.
Investigators started tracking the use of stolen credit cards and watched surveillance at the Costco parking lot and at the Fred Meyers in Renton, where the suspect used the stolen credit cards after the thefts.
About $17,200 was charged to stolen cards.
Detectives then identified the suspect as Artem Bondahousky, who was arrested on October 19.
