Washington state ferry officials said this cancels the 8:45 a.m., 10:15 a.m., 11:45 a.m., 1:15 p.m., and 2:45 p.m. sailings from Port Townsend, as well as the 9:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2:00 p.m., and 3:30 p.m. sailings from Coupeville.
Ferry officials said the problem with the ferry Kennewick involves its rudders and is a long-term issue.
On Thursday, the ferry Chetzemoka was suspended for an underwater inspection. According to ferry officials, the decision comes after the discovery of the rudder issue on the Chetzemoka's 'sister vessel,' the Kennewick.
The Chetzemoka was returned to service at 9 a.m. Thursday, ferry officials said.
