The horse, which was believed to be about 20 years old, was found Friday, August 30 in the 22400 block of Sweeney Road S.E. near Cedar River Elementary School in Maple Valley.
Animal control officers took the horse to a veterinarian, but it died three days later. A necropsy is expected to determine the exact cause of death.
