JEFFERSON COUNTY, Wash. — At least one person has died after a head-on collision on the Hood Canal Bridge on Thursday evening.
According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), the deadly crash happened at around 5 p.m. in the middle of the Hood Canal Bridge in Jefferson County.
In their release, WSP reports that a 28-year-old woman was driving eastbound when she crossed the center line, hitting another car driving westbound head-on.
The 28-year-old woman was lifeflighted to Harborview Medical Center.
The driver of the second car, an 83-year-old man, was also lifeflighted to Harborview. His passenger, a 39-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Drivers were told to expect long delays, and by 10 p.m., the bridge had reopened.
