Crews battle fire at abandoned home in Kent

KENT, Wash. — Firefighters battled a fire at a vacant home in Kent home early Friday.

Crews were called to the house in the 2600 block of 116th Avenue at 3:35 a.m.

Firefighters arrived to find flames burning through the roof of the boarded-up home.

Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority posted a video on the social media platform X showing the burning home.

Because of safety concerns, firefighters fought the flames from outside the house.

The fire was under control within 30 minutes and no injuries were reported, according to Puget Sound Fire Division Chief Pat Pawlak.

The cause is under investigation.
