BELLEVUE, Wash. — A 45-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly burglarized a home just miles away from other Bellevue homes that were impacted by a landslide and targeted by thieves nearly a month ago.
An officer responded to a home in the 5100 block of Somerset Drive Southeast after an alarm was activated.
When the officer arrived, officials said he did not see anything suspicious.
After the officer walked around the home and headed back to his patrol car, he noticed a man run through a neighbor’s yard and then hop into a truck.
Authorities said the officer performed “a high-risk stop,” arrested the man and recovered a loaded gun that was stolen from the home.
The man got into the house by climbing onto the second-story deck and smashing a window, police said.
The suspect was booked into jail.
