ADAMS COUNTY, Wash. — After a person was found dead in a vehicle Thursday in Othello, and the remains of others were found in the trunk, authorities arrested a 28-year-old man Friday for possibly killing at least one person.

The suspect was taken into custody and booked into the Adams County Jail for investigation of first-degree murder.

Adams County deputies were notified Thursday about the vehicle, responding at about 6:30 a.m. to the 2200 block of Charla Road in the Edson Tracks area.

The person who made the report said a vehicle appeared to have blood on the hood, authorities said.

When deputies arrived, a body was found inside the vehicle.

The Washington State Patrol Crime Lab Response Team was called and collected evidence.

While WSP was processing the scene, they also found human remains in the trunk, officials said.

No victims have been identified yet because of the condition of the bodies, law enforcement said.

Sheriff Dale Wagner said, “Investigations like these are very tasking and delicate.”

Wagner asked anyone with information to call 509-659-1122.

Othello Police Department, Grant County Sheriff’s Office, Washington State Patrol and Moses Lake Police Department are assisting in the investigation.

The suspect could face additional charges.
