Car slams into Renton apartment building

RENTON, Wash. — A driver was taken to the hospital after their car crashed into a Renton apartment building.

Firefighters said they were called to the 17200 block of Benson Drive at 2:36 a.m. Thursday.

They arrived to find a car that had lost control, went down a small hill, crashed through a fence and then slammed into a building.

The driver was trapped in the car and had to be rescued. Firefighters said that person was seriously hurt.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
