BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Two people and a cat were treated during a two-alarm fire at an apartment complex Sunday in Bellingham, firefighters said.
Firefighters were called after 2:30 p.m. to 5801 Pacific Rim Way for a building fire.
When crews arrived at the scene, intense flames and heavy smoke were pouring from a second-floor apartment unit, officials said.
Officials said the two people and cat were treated for smoke inhalation but were released.

No firefighters were injured.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
