RENTON, Wash. — One person was arrested and a second is on the run after a possible home invasion burglary in Renton Thursday morning.
Shortly before 5 a.m., King County dispatch received a 911 call about a burglary at a home on the corner of 127th Place and Southeast 189th Street in Renton.
Several people were in the house during the burglary.
“While in route, King County deputies spotted a car fleeing the scene, a short pursuit ensued where the vehicle crashed (into a car with) two occupants,” said King County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Eric White.
The crash happened near Southeast 192nd Street and 106th Avenue Southeast, according to White.
Chavela Johnson said her parents were in the car that the suspects hit. She said they were on their way to the hospital when the suspects pushed them off the road.
“As my stepdad said, he looked up in his window, he could see a car come flying right behind him, before he knew it, he was impacted in the middle of the street,” said Johnson.
Johnson said she saw a man get out of the car and run, but was quickly arrested by police.
“As I was standing here, dogs started coming, drones were in the air, helicopters,” said Johnson.
Deputies set up a perimeter with help from Kent and Renton officers.
One person was arrested. A second suspect is still at large. No description has been released.
A stolen gun was recovered during the search.
White said the car the suspects were driving was also stolen.
Johnson said despite her parents’ car being totaled, she’s glad they are alive and recovering at the hospital.
“She just landed at Virginia Mason. She’s in a lot of pain, they are trying to prep her to get X-rays of her legs,” said Johnson.
