AUBURN, Wash. — Crews fought a large brush fire in Auburn, that from aerial video, appeared to be uncomfortably close to an apartment complex.
The fire was near the Belara at Lakeland Apartments around 2:30 p.m.
When Valley Regional Fire Authority crews arrived the fire was approximately 200 by 200 feet and spreading up a steep hillside. KIRO Chopper 7 was in the air above the fire and relayed what they were seeing to command staff until King County Guardian One arrived.
Flames were in the trees, but the fire moved uphill away from the apartments.
The fire was contained shortly before 5 p.m.
Neighbors reported seeing children or teens with fireworks.
