• J.P. Patches fans to celebrate life, legacy of Chris Wedes Saturday

    SEATTLE - Join KIRO 7 this Saturday, Sept. 8, as we remember Chris Wedes and his beloved character, JP Patches.

     

    A celebration of his life and legacy will be held at McCaw Hall at Seattle Center at 11 a.m.  See details

    At 8 p.m. that night, you can watch a special encore presentation on KIRO 7.

     

    Wedes, who played the loveable iconic clown for decades, died in July at age 84.

     

    The JP Patches show was first broadcast in black and white on KIRO 7 in 1958.

     

    The last JP Patches broadcast was in 1981.  It was the longest running locally produced children's show in the country.
