Issaquah family hopes you recognize this burglar

An Issaquah family hopes you can help police identify the burglar who broke into their house.

The family lives in Issaquah Highlands and was home when the intruder got inside on Feb. 6.

It was upstairs watching a movie when its dog started to bark. When the dad went downstairs to check it out, he noticed the window was open.

His child and wife came downstairs, too.

The dad saw the burglar and lunged at him.

"My husband is basically fighting him and he is trying to get away. I couldn't get around him to get to the phone to call for help or grab a weapon or anything," said the mom.

The family asked not to be identified for safety reasons.

The father said he punched the man.

He wanted to protect his family.

The guy got loose and ran. Police weren't able to find him in the neighborhood.

The family worked with investigators to create a sketch.

Police are asking for the public's help identifying the burglar.

This suspect is described as a white male, approximately 17 to 19 years old, with a medium build.

At the time of the incident, he was wearing a white shirt and jeans.

"Plain and simple I hope he gets caught," the father said.

When asked how he felt about the burglary, he said, "Anger, a little victimized. I feel like we worked hard for all this. What's his right to come in and take it? It's not just the physical stuff. It's the effect on everyone's emotions."

Anyone who recognizes the suspect should contact Issaquah police Sgt. Ryan Raulerson at (425) 837-3238.
