Kent, Wash. — A 20-year-old Kent man has been charged after police said they linked his fingerprint to a residential burglary in October. Police say the suspect, Marquis Jackson, broke into the home at 11626 S.E. 270th St. in Kent sometime between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Oct. 14.
The homeowner reported the burglary after he came home and found his home had been ransacked. When police arrived, the homeowner told them that more than $1,500 in cash and some gold jewelry were missing.
On Nov. 21, police said they found a match for a fingerprint off a perfume box in the home, and it linked the suspect to the burglary, according to court documents. Jackson was charged earlier this month. Court documents show he is still at large and has not yet had an arraignment, where he'll enter a plea.
Jackson has a history that includes previous residential burglary convictions and a conviction for possession of stolen property, court records show.
Editor's note: This story has been corrected. Jackson was not arrested in this case, according to court documents.
