SEATTLE — An elephant named ‘Chai,’ transferred from Seattle to Oklahoma City last year, has passed away at the Oklahoma City Zoo.
On Saturday morning, the zoo announced over Twitter that Chai was found dead in the elephant yard.
Officials with the Oklahoma City Zoo said Monday no definitive cause or infectious disease was revealed in the necropsy after Chai's death.

Two elephants from Seattle's Woodland Park Zoo – 'Chai' and 'Bamboo' – arrived at their new home in Oklahoma City last spring.
The zoo announced the transfer in Feb. of 2015.
