Special delivery bike stolen from SoDo Deli

SEATTLE — Owners of a unique delivery bike stolen from a SoDo deli are hoping someone will recognize the vehicle they used to deliver sandwiches.

The special bike, a former pedi-cab, was taken on Saturday night while Jann VanOver was in the back of SoDo Deli, cleaning up.

VanOver told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News the bike is needed to make deliveries to customers who have a hard time reaching the deli through construction in the area.

VanOver also told us the bike has quite the history with customers:

"I've had people come by who I didn't even know say, 'Oh yeah, I know that bike and Purple Perry had it,' and tell me some story about it from years ago," VanOver said.

VanOver said the bike was also a great marketing tool carrying their store sign.

VanOver said the bike is a three-wheel recumbent cycle with a handmade wooden seat on the back. It was recently repainted red, but it still has many touches of purple still on it from its time with Purple Perry Pedicabs. When it was stolen, it had a red and white SODO Deli sidewalk sign in the back.
