SECHELT, British Columbia, Canada — A group of boaters in Canada got a surprise last week when they encountered a cougar swimming in the Strait of Georgia near Sechelt, Global BC reported
Video of the sighting showed some of the men taking photos and video while one yelled, “Watch out, he’ll jump on the boat – you don’t want that, you don’t want that!”
The cat swam right up to the craft, but the driver was able to motor away before the cougar had a chance to climb aboard. As the boat drove away, the cougar was seen swimming back to the shore, which wasn’t far off.
