Cab driver attacked and robbed

Two men are wanted for attacking and robbing a cab driver last Tuesday.

NEAR LYNNWOOD, Wash. — Two men are wanted for attacking a cab driver and robbing him last Tuesday.

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office says the cab driver went to 16600 block of 6th Avenue West near Lynnwood to pick up two men.

Instead of wanting a ride, detectives say the men attacked the cab driver.

“Two men forced him out of his vehicle, severely beat him and robbed him of his cash and credit cards,” said Shari Ireton with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.

Then they made the man walk to a gas station nearby to get money out of the ATM. When they were unable to get money from the cash machine, the men ran off.

The surveillance cameras in the gas station captured images of the suspects.  Investigators have identified one man as 27-year-old Eric T. Johnson.  They need help identifying the other man.

“We’re concerned because this was a pretty brazen crime and we’d definitely like to catch these guys,” added Ireton.

The owner of the Yellow Cab company in Lynnwood said the victim didn’t want to talk about the attack until the men are caught.

The sheriff’s office says the last time they asked the public to help identify a suspect, a positive ID was made right away.
