SEATTLE — Some people in Seattle's Belltown neighborhood are happy that a bar with a history of violence has closed, at least temporarily.
Cellar's Restaurant and Lounge was the scene of at least three shootings since 2013. The most recent happened two weeks ago.
In that incident, a 20-year-old woman who was celebrating her birthday fired five shots in a parking lot nearby.
“The bullet came through here, bounced off the wall and landed about two feet away from me,” said Belltown resident Kevin Lessig.
Lessig said the bullet whizzed by his head.
Seattle's City Attorney moved to get the restaurant’s liquor license suspended, but the state agreed to a 14-day suspension.
