BURIEN, Wash. — A 26-year-old passenger on a motorcycle died in a head-on crash in Burien Monday night, deputies said.
Authorities responded to a crash at SW 143rd and First Avenue South at about 8:30 p.m.
According to deputies, a motorcycle ridden by a 25-year-old man and 26-year-old woman was southbound in the northbound lanes of First Avenue South.
Witnesses told deputies the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed when it hit a vehicle.
The woman died at the scene and the man tried to flee but was caught and arrested. He had minor injuries and was treated at Harborview Medical Center.
Deputies said the driver of the car was not injured.
