SEATTLE — A two-alarm fire ripped through a residential building in Seattle’s Queen Anne neighborhood Thursday.

The fire happened about 5 p.m. at 160 Lee Street. Fire officials said the fire was knocked down but it flared up again.
The fire was on the upper floor of the building. Firefighters initially knocked out a skylight and the building was evacuated.
No injuries were immediately reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The fire was a challenge because it was in the space between the attic and the roof, firefighters said. They tried to knock the fire down, but had difficulty with the condo that was constructed in 1988. There were 30 units, according to property records.
Firefighters were called by a neighbor who saw smoke from another unit's door smoke. They were told the smoke had an electrical scent, a department spokeswoman said.
Firefighters from Kirkland, Bellevue, Redmond, Mercer Island, Shoreline and Woodinville were all called to help Seattle. Click here to see photos of the two-alarm Queen Anne fire.
