SEATAC, Wash. — An 11-year-old who could barely see over the hood of a car, stole the vehicle after finding the hideaway key.
A short chase ensued when a detective spotted the boy driving recklessly down South 167th Street in SeaTac on Wednesday afternoon.
He was reportedly driving at high speeds, erratically and changing lanes.
After patrol deputies arrived, units ended the pursuit by using a PIT maneuver (precision immobilization technique), where police can force a fleeing car to turn sideways.
He was taken into custody at Pacific Highway and 160th.
The boy's mom picked him up.
King County Sheriff's officer reports he found the hid-a-key to a random car that was parked on the side of the road and took off in it.
No injures were reported.
