$1 rides to top of Space Needle return for closing celebrations

SEATTLE — To commemorate the end of the 1962 World’s Fair celebrations, elevator rides to the top of the Space Needle will be $1.

The Space Needle and Bartell Drugs have teamed up for the 50th Anniversary of the closing of the World's Fair.

The public will get a change to enjoy a $1 ride to the Observation Deck, which was the original cost when the Space Needle first opened.

Sunday’s retro pricing will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., and tickets are limited to one person. The ticket is good for a two-hour time block throughout the day.

Tickets are limited, so customers are urged to come early to secure admission.

The 50th Anniversary celebrations kicked off April 21, which marked the Space Needle's Golden Anniversary. Tickets to the Observation deck were also $1 that day.
