7 things to do this weekend: Feb. 22 - 24

1) Green Thumb Party: Northwest Flower & Garden Festival - Wednesday to Sunday, Feb. 20-24. The doors open at 9 a.m. Attendees can expect hundreds of exhibitors and some of the region's garden creators at the event. There will also be seminars that will showcase visuals for those who are looking for advice on gardening or just want to see a demonstration. 2) Band Blast: Wintergrass Music Festival - Thursday to Sunday, Feb. 21-24. Get an ear full of American roots music at this music celebration. The lineup is huge, with music from Blue Highway, Della Mae and many others. This event will be at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Bellevue. Follow this link for details.

3) Unscripted: Seattle Festival of Improv Theater - Wednesday to Sunday, Feb. 20-24. This event features a variety of improv at two venues and workshops. There will also be improv masterclasses for those interested. Follow this link for details.

4) Hand moves: Pacific Northwest Regional Yo-Yo Championship - Saturday, Feb. 23. Top talent from the region will compete and show their moves before a crowd. 5) At home: Seattle Home Show - Running until March 3. Attendees will get to experience everything for the home whether it be an exhibit on decorating, landscaping or the latest appliances, this show will have it. There will also be seminars and wine tasting. Follow this link for details.

6) Grand slam: Omaha vs. Seattle University - Saturday, Feb. 23. The Redhawks will battle it out at Bannerwood Park in Bellevue. From the Seattle U. school website: The Redhawks and Mavericks have had just one previous series meeting. The Redhawks won the 2012 series, 2-1, at Bannerwood Park. Follow this link for details.

7) Film frenzy: Destiny City Film Festival - Friday to Sunday, Feb. 22-24. This is a chance to enjoy independent films from the Northwest and other areas. Whether the story is a documentary, narrative or animation, people who attend were told they expect quality films. In addition to the films, workshops and panel discussions will be integrated into the event. The event is being hosted at the Blue Mouse Theater in the Proctor District in Tacoma.
