RIDGEFIELD, Wash. — Troopers say a driver broke his neck after falling asleep at the wheel early Monday and crashing into a weigh station light pole in Clark County.
It happened in Ridgefield in southwest Washington off of northbound I-5, just north of the Pioneer exit.
The State Patrol says the crash brought down a light pole and broke a window at the new facility.
Troopers say the facility is so new that it has not yet opened. It has been closed since Oct. 2018 so it could be rebuilt due to age.
The State Patrol said the driver was cited for second-degree negligent driving.
