About a half-million people are expected to ride a ferry during the Memorial Day weekend.
Riders should expect crowds and lines during peak travel times, though there will be extra sailings to help with crowds.

- 1:55 p.m. Anacortes to Orcas Island
- 3:15 p.m. Orcas Island to Anacortes
- 10:30 p.m. Friday Harbor to Orcas Island to Lopez Island to Anacortes
Washington State Ferries expects many holiday weekend passengers to sail westbound Friday and then eastbound Monday as people return from their Memorial Day getaways.

WSF says about one-fourth of all passengers -- or about 120,000 people -- will ride the Seattle/Bainbridge Island route, which is by far the busiest.
Officials also say the most noticeable increase in traffic will be on the Anacortes/San Juan Islands and Port Townsend/Coupeville routes.
You're recommended to consider walking onto the ferry, since passenger capacity is bigger than vehicle capacity on all ferries.
