TROY, Ala. — The Troy Fire Department in Alabama sprang into action Thursday night after they were called to rescue a deer from a creepy location.

In the darkness of night, the C-shift arrived at a call to find a doe looking back at them from deep inside a storm drain.

In a Facebook video posted by the Troy Fire Department, the trapped deer can be seen staring back from inside the concrete roadside drainage. Rescuers can then be seen pulling the frightened doe out through an access lid to safety. After they removed the towel and rescue rope, the deer ran into the night.

Animals get trapped in storm drains often, making it necessary for fire departments or other agencies to step in to rescue them.

In August, several agencies had to work together to rescue not only a bear from a drain, but also her two cubs.
