The massive pumpkin, which weighed 2,554 pounds, was grown by Scott Andrusz and presented at the Great Pumpkin Farm on Saturday, the farm announced in a Facebook post.

The giant squash shattered the previous national record of 2,528 pounds, The Buffalo News reported. Andrusz said in a statement that he had initially just been hoping to break the New York state record for heaviest pumpkin, which was 2,517 pounds.

The winning pumpkin will be on display at the Great Pumpkin Farm fall festival through Oct. 16, The Associated Press reported.

The world’s heaviest pumpkin was grown in Italy and weighed 2,702 pounds, according to Guinness World Records.
