PASADENA, Texas — Two mothers, tired of confining their children, removed yellow tape from around a Texas playground Tuesday.
Pasadena police asked the mothers and their children to voluntarily leave the playground area at Holly Bay Court Park which was closed because of the coronavirus, KHOU reported. They refused.
"We try to educate them on the reason why the equipment has been closed and tried to encourage them not to use the equipment," Pasadena Chief Josh Bruegger told KHOU.

The mothers were not cited, KTRK reported.
"The decision was made at that point to document the incident, but there's going to be no further enforcement action taken on that," Bruegger said.
The parents remain undeterred.
"A whole bunch of moms got together,” Robert Jeter III, a parent who recorded video of the incident, told KHOU. “We're all going to show up (Thursday). Some others in the community were out here and have come and gone.”

The tape returned Thursday morning, KTRK reported. So did some large signs that read: "STAY OFF: Playgrounds, exercise equipment, basketball courts, picnic tables, benches."

There are 45,159 confirmed cases and 1,256 deaths from the coronavirus in Texas, according to The New York Times.
