LAS VEGAS — One person is dead and two others injured after a shooting early Sunday morning on the Las Vegas strip, investigators said.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said a group of men got into a fight around 3 a.m. near the Hawaiian Marketplace on Las Vegas Boulevard, KTNV reported.
One of the men in the group started shooting before running from the area. One man was fatally struck. Two men chased after the shooter. One of them threw a rock that hit him in the head. However, the shooter turned and fired three shots, striking one man in the leg and a bullet ricocheted into another. Both of the men were taken to hospitals where they were expected to survive.
Police responded to the scene within a minute of the shooting. The gunman was taken into custody at a nearby hotel. He was taken to a hospital for treatment to a head injury.
None of the men’s identities have been released.
