Burke Ramsey, the 29-year-old brother of the murdered beauty queen, JonBenét Ramsey, plans to file a lawsuit against CBS after they aired a docu-series that ended with the investigators blaming the then 9-year-old of killing his sister, according to TMZ.
"I'm gonna sue CBS, the phony experts and everyone else that put this thing together," Ramsey’s lawyer, L. Lin Wood, told TMZ.
In the series, "The Case of: JonBenét Ramsey," investigators reexamined all of the evidence from the case and concluded that Burke Ramsey killed his sister by accident with a flashlight. They theorized that when the family returned home from a Christmas celebration, John Ramsey put JonBenét to bed as Patsy Ramsey served Burke pineapple and tea.
Sometime later, they believe that JonBenét came downstairs and helped herself to her brother’s dessert and he became so infuriated, he hit her over the head with a flashlight. The investigators also concluded that the parents covered the whole thing up.
Prosecutors never pursued this theory.
CBS responded to the lawsuit saying that the network "stands by the broadcast and will do so in court."
Burke Ramsey recently sat down with Dr. Phil McGraw for a series of interviews. Dr. Phil did ask him about the potential murder weapons during the interviews.
"There was a flashlight and a baseball bat both found at the house, and investigators thought one of those could have caused JonBenét’s head wound. Did they show you either of those items?"
Burke replied, "They showed me a picture of the baseball bat, like, on the side of the house or something … That was my baseball bat that I would normally like leave it out on the patio."
