SEATTLE — A suitcase found in Seattle’s SoDo neighborhood early Wednesday that caused a bomb squad response turned out to be harmless.
Someone found the suitcase at 4:30 a.m. in front of an electrical supply store on Utah Avenue South near Hanford Street.
That person thought the suitcase seemed suspicious and called police.
Seattle police brought in a bomb squad and a robot to investigate and streets in the area were closed.
A bomb squad technician wearing a full, heavy suit eventually took a closer look about 6:30 a.m. and gave a thumbs up signal that the contents of the suitcase were harmless.
Police have not yet said what was inside.
