WATCH: Iron Maiden lead singer says Tacoma security guards beat fan, officials share other side

Iron Maiden lead singer Bruce Dickinson stopped the band’s show Thursday night at the Tacoma Dome after he said security guards beat a fan.

But Tacoma Dome staff said there's more to the story.

Dickinson told the crowd that the fan had “the s*** kicked out him by 10 security guards.” Dickinson continued, saying he saw one security guard lean over a barrier and punch a kid half his size four times in the face.

"This is not the f**** mixed martial arts," Dickinson told the crowd. "In mixed martial arts you have a referee, you know? This is not that."  Video of his reaction is below from Jimmy Lovaas.

Tacoma Dome staff received multiple complaints at the concert about "an overly aggressive individual who when addressed, physically attacked a security professional," Tacoma Marketing Director Tammi Bryant said Friday in a statement.

She said the fan was arrested by Tacoma police for investigation of assault after security guards "engaged to remove (him)."

KIRO 7 reached out to Tacoma police and officer Loretta Cool said the fan was a 26-year-old man from Boise, Idaho.

According to Cool, the man was at the barrier on the floor, intoxicated and bothering people around him. Concert goers asked security to get him out and one security guard responded.

The fan allegedly told the security guard, "f*** you, not leaving," said Cool.

According to police, the fan punched the security guard, who then backed away and radioed for help.

Other security guards went down and security called police officers who were working the event.

Then fan was cited and released. He had a laceration and refused medical attention, police said.

Dickinson said the incident was the first time something like that happened on their tour. Iron Maiden’s Legacy of the Beast Tour started in July in Florida and concludes October 15 in Santiago, Chile. The band plays Friday night in Portland.

Dickinson said the person was bleeding from his head and getting treatment – and said he hopes “that kid takes this building to the f****** cleaners.”

Video of the incident was not immediately found on public social media pages. He said if fans had camera footage, the band would be happy to help facilitate identifying the guards he described as bullies and “f****** criminals.”

Iron Maiden then launched into their song "The Evil That Men Do."

Iron Maiden is a heavy metal band formed in 1975 in East London. Their self-titled debut album was released in 1980, and their well-known album "The Number of the Beast" was released in 1982. It topped the United Kingdom's Official Albums Chart, and the title song from the album went to No. 3 on the U.K. Singles Chart. Iron Maiden is also known for their song "Run to the Hills" off the same album, which charted four times between 1982 and 2002.
