Semi driver charged for deadly multi-vehicle crash on northbound I-5 in Tacoma

TACOMA, Wash. — A semi-truck driver was formally charged Monday for his involvement in a deadly crash on northbound Interstate 5 in Tacoma.

Five cars and two semi-trucks were involved in the collision that backed up traffic for over six hours Friday.

According to the Washington State Patrol, a man died at the scene and multiple others were injured.

The semi driver was charged with one count of vehicular homicide, four counts of vehicular assault, and driving under the influence, according to court documents.

He pleaded not guilty to all five charges.

His bail is set at $500,000.
