LACEY, Wash. — The Washington State Patrol says a 28-year-old Tacoma man is dead after driving the wrong way on Interstate 5 in Lacey and crashing into an oncoming car.
The crash occurred around 4:40 a.m. Sunday and state troopers say the man's car crashed into a sport-utility vehicle driven by a 16-year-old girl from Chehalis, Washington.
The girl suffered injuries that are not considered to be life threatening, but was transferred to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia.
The man was not identified as the State Patrol works to contact his next of kin. State Patrol officials say he lived in Tacoma, but was originally from New Orleans.
