Marysville police attempt to ID possible witnesses in fatal hit-and-run

The Marysville Police Department is asking the public's help in identifying three people who could help in the investigation of a fatal hit-and-run from last month.

On Feb. 16, 24-year-old Matthew Colson was crossing the 64th Street near the Maryville Family YMCA when he was struck by a hit-and-run driver. He later died from his injuries.

On Thursday, Marysville police released surveillance images of three people who they say are possible witnesses in the collision. They also released images of a vehicle.

Police believe the driver appears to be a woman, possibly wearing glasses, wearing an oversized coat and carrying a large purse. One of the passengers is a man who appears to be balding, taller, thin and wearing blue jeans with white sneakers. The other passenger appears to be a younger woman, thin, with long, dark hair and may be wearing glasses.

Investigators believe the vehicle is a 2010 to 2011 Honda CRV SUV, possibly gray, silver, red or burgundy.

Police emphasized the people are not considered suspects in the case and that detectives want to speak to them about their proximity to the crash scene.

If you are one of the people in the images or may know who the people are, they are asked to contact Detective Chris Jones with the Marysville Police Department at 360-363-8327.
