AUBURN, Wash. — Police say a 30-year-old man was shot outside an Auburn apartment complex as he returned from buying pizza during halftime of the Seahawks game.
Police say the attempted robbery happened in the parking lot of Cedar Point Apartments on M Street Southeast in Auburn at 7:45 p.m. Monday.
Police said a stranger came up to the victim and said “give me all your stuff,” according to Commander Steve Stocker with Auburn Police.
When the victim said he didn't have anything, the suspect shot him in the back.
The victim was rushed to Harborview Medical Center.
Police dusted the victim's Honda for prints Monday night.
Julitha, a neighbor, said she heard the gunshot.
"He was like 'help me, I’m being shot,'” she said.
"I was just like, running to my apartment, cause I didn't know what to do.”
Police say the victim was conscious and was able to describe to them what happened.
The suspect hasn’t been caught.
