SEATTLE — A 42-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of a woman in Seattle’s SoDo neighborhood last summer.
Police said that on July 2, 2013, they received a 911 call from a train engineer who said he found the woman's body near Fifth Avenue South and South Spokane Street.
Officers called homicide detectives after they found the woman had significant head injuries.
Detectives obtained DNA from the 42-year-old man, who was previously in a relationship with the victim, during their investigation and sent it to the Washington State Crime Lab.
After receiving a DNA match in the case, police arrested man Wednesday near 10th Avenue South and South Weller Street and booked him into the King County Jail on homicide charges.
