KIRO 7 was the official TV partner, and the tree lighting was also livestreamed on the KIRO 7 News app.

Several people brought new, unwrapped toys for the KIRO 7 Cares Toy Drive, benefiting Toys for Tots. You also can bring new, unwrapped toys to any of the five Albert Lee Appliance locations through December 5th, or to the KIRO 7 building on December 6. See additional details about the Toy Drive here.

KIRO 7 became the media sponsor for the downtown Seattle tree lighting in 2018 when anchor Dave Wagner was one of the hosts. Watch our coverage from 2018 below.

The Holiday Carousel in Westlake Park also started on Friday. It's been a tradition for 33 years. The Holiday Carousel has 18 colorful horses, a double chariot and hundreds of lights. There is a $4 suggested donation, and each ride benefits the Downtown Seattle Association's programming and management of Occidental Square and Westlake Park.

The Holiday Carousel continues through Jan. 1. It's open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. It's closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
