WATCH: Seattle police rescue dog stranded under dock on South Lake Union

SEATTLE — New video (see above) released Tuesday shows officers with the Seattle Police Department rescuing a dog earlier on Aug. 2.

Police said the dog, named Indiana Bones, escaped his doggie day care, swam into South Lake Union and got stuck under a dock.

Officers responded to the dock near the 900 block of Fairview Avenue North around 8:45 p.m. to help rescue Indiana Bones.

The department's Harbor Unit and patrol officers tried to send in a police diver to reach Indiana Bones but were unable to get to him, police said.

Eventually, police said harbor officers pried up a board on the dock, discovered they were digging in the correct place and safely retrieved the dog.

Indiana Bones was then returned to his owner, police said.
