SKYKOMISH, Wash. — Two people on a train trestle near Skykomish were hurt when a train passed by late Thursday morning.
Initially, one person was believed to have possibly plummeted into the Skykomish River after they were hit.
A second person was believed to have possibly fled afterward, leading the King County Sheriff’s Office to consider if foul play was involved.
The sheriff’s office now says a man and a woman were able to stay on the trestle when the train passed by. Both have hand and arm injuries.
The injured couple then drove to Evergreen Hospital in Monroe. Their injuries are not life-threatening.
Police said any further investigation or possible charges would come from BNSF Railway police.
