(Washington State Patrol)

CLALLAM COUNTY, Wash. — A driver involved in a fatal head-on crash on State Route 101 was taken into custody for investigation of DUI, Washington State Patrol Trooper Chelsea Hodgson said.

Hodges said the crash happened about 5:15 p.m. Wednesday between River Road and Sequim Avenue in Clallam County.

The crash involved two drivers, Hodges said.

No information was given about the driver who died, or the driver suspected of DUI.

Washington State Department of Transportation representatives were on the scene diverting traffic because the road was blocked in both directions.

All lanes of traffic were eventually reopened before 10 p.m.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
