MASON COUNTY, Wash. — One person is dead after a vehicle hit a pedestrian on southbound U.S. Highway 101 north of Shelton and fled the scene, Washington State Patrol Trooper Chelsea Hodgson said.
The hit-and-run was reported about 8 p.m. Sunday near California Avenue.
Law enforcement closed the road between West Dayton Airport Road and East Brockdale Road for the investigation.
No vehicle or suspect description has been made available at this time.
