WASHINGTON — The Washington state secretary of health approved applications from three more counties for an early move to the next phase of reopening.

Wahkiakum, Skamania and Stevens counties can now move to phase two of Gov. Jay Inslee's Safe Start plan.

Columbia, Garfield, Lincoln, Ferry and Pend Oreille counties were approved last week.

In order to apply, counties have to have a population of less than 75,000 and no new cases or coronavirus in the last three weeks. The county also has to demonstrate that it has adequate hospital bed capacity and PPE supplies for health care workers.

If circumstances change and cases go up, the variance can be revoked.
