FEDERAL WAY, Wash. — If you’ve ever had a best friend, you’ve probably had a secret handshake.
But this Federal Way middle school teacher? She's got over 50, and she's sharing them all on social media.
"I have to share this video my daughter's 5th grade teacher, Yvette Gregg posted," parent Carrie Newcombe wrote to KIRO 7 in an email. "... I cannot describe how incredibly hard she works to connect with her students."
Newcombe said Gregg has been doing this for about six years. She decided to record her students this year so that classroom parents could see.
"She is an invaluable influence to youth," Newcombe writes in her email. "She is exactly what schools need more of!!!"
As of Thursday night, Gregg's video had more than 38,000 views and over 652 shares.
In her post, Gregg says she had done the handshakes almost every day this year.
