SEATTLE — A 71-year-old man died at Harborview Medical Center after sustaining a gunshot wound Friday evening, Seattle police said.
Police were called to the 4500 block of South Othello Street and 45th Avenue South before 7 p.m. for a reported shooting.
When medics arrived at the scene, the man was reportedly in critical condition.
Officials with Seattle police believe the man was shot somewhere else and drove to the scene where he was found shot.
Police said the man got into a car accident near the Othello Playground.
Another driver went to check on the man and noticed the victim had a gunshot wound and called 911.
No weapon was recovered and no arrests were made in connection to the shooting.
Police are asking anyone with surveillance cameras in the area to look through their home footage between 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. to see if anything unusual was captured.
The shooting is under investigation.
