Seattle police arrest 35 in organized retail theft

SEATTLE — Seattle police arrested 35 people on Wednesday as part of the police department’s ongoing work to deter organized retail theft.

While watching a store on 2nd Avenue throughout the day, officers saw people steal thousands of dollars of cutlery, kitchen sets, detergent and liquor from the store and walk out the front door.

Officers then stopped them, made identifications, recovered the stolen merchandise and prohibited them from the store for a year.

The individuals were then released from the scene.

One man was booked into King County jail on a Department of Corrections warrant.
