KING COUNTY, Wash. — A road near Duvall reopened Wednesday evening after a small mudslide closed it earlier in the day.
Novelty Hill Road was closed from West Snoqualmie Valley Road NE to 243rd Ave. NE in unincorporated King County between Redmond, Duvall and Carnation.
The slide was on a slope on the other side of the guardrail.
Just after 5 p.m., crews reopened Novelty Hill Road.
The slide is the latest over the last few weeks that’s caused road closures amid wet weather.
The Department of Natural Resources says tilting trees on slopes or formations of cracks in the land, especially around yards or driveways, can be warning signs of a coming slide. Sagging utility lines also are a clue.
