KLICKITAT COUNTY, Wash. — The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) says teams will be using drones to survey nests of the endangered sandhill crane.
The drones will be used from April to August this year to support population monitoring, WDFW said.
Researchers will use the drones to capture high-quality images of the nests and habitat locations.
Surveys will be conducted in western Klickitat County, but no areas will be closed due to the drone flights, WDFW said in a release.
