SEATTLE — The Seattle Seahawks have claimed wide receiver Josh Gordon off waivers, the team announced Friday.

Gordon started the year with the New England Patriots, but was placed on Injured Reserve on Oct. 23 with a knee injury.

He was waived from injured reserve on Oct. 31.

The Seahawks released veteran defensive end Dekoda Watson, who was signed earlier this week, to make room on the roster for Gordon.

In six games with the Patriots this year, Gordon caught 20 passes for 287 yards and one touchdown.

Gordon was originally a second-round pick in the 2012 Supplemental Draft by the Cleveland Browns after playing at Baylor University and the University of Utah.

In 2013 with the Browns, Gordon was named to the Pro Bowl after recording 87 receptions for 1,646 yards and nine touchdowns.

Gordon was suspended the entire 2015 season due to a violation of the league's substance abuse policy.

He also missed all of the 2016 season and was reinstated on Nov. 1, 2017.

In his NFL career, Gordon has 240 catches for 4,113 yards and 20 touchdowns.

Other wide receivers on the Seahawks roster include: Tyler Lockett, David Moore, DK Metcalf, Jaron Brown, John Ursua, Gary Jennings and Malik Turner.
